Veterans Tribute - Panel Design Content Request

- 6/26/2020

Dear Friends,

As you may know, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, along with a team of design consultants and veteran-affiliated members, have been collaborating to create a Veterans’ Tribute to be built near the Pershing Military and Naval Science building located on Memorial Mall.  We are now in a stage of design where we will begin collecting content for the panels of the Tribute.  The panels are a key component of this design, envisioned as highlighting memories and quotes received from veterans, members of the military or their families.  Below this email is a website that will be used for this content collection, under "Share Your Story”; the full design of the Tribute can also be viewed on the website.

We are sending this inquiry to a broad range of military affiliated individuals in hopes that we will reach numerous individuals who may have an interest in submitting information.  Would you be able to assist us in this effort and forward this website to your veteran and military-affiliated contacts?  Also, if you are a veteran, member of the military or family member, please do not hesitate to complete this form yourself.

This is an integral step that will move this design process forward.  We hope you will be able to assist us in this effort.

Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have questions.  Thank you for your assistance!

Member News - VFW Post 2704 would like to congratulate Larry Gerlt. At the December Awards Banquet it was announced that Larry was selected by the Post for the 2020 Edward G. Reyes Semper Fidelis Award. Congratulations Larry.

Annual Members - If you haven't already renewed your membership, please do. Every year our Post spends hundreds of man-hours on membership renewals. It's important to our Post and the entire VFW organization. That said, time is precious, and the hours spent on membership renewal takes away from hours that could be spent on other service projects helping Veterans in the Omaha area.  Thank you.

Our Post History - I'm trying to gather information on our Post history, I've been a member for several years, I know we are the Deml-Kopietz Post but I was never told why.
